100 PERFORMANCES OSCAR FORGOT - CHRISTIAN BALE IN 'AMERICAN PSYCHO'

Here's the latest piece I wrote for writeoutofla.com's series "100 Performances Oscar Forgot", highlighting some of the more memorable acting performances that have been overlooked at the Oscars over the years. This one is about everyone's favorite Huey Lewis fan, Patrick Bateman, brilliantly portrayed by Christian Bale in Mary Harron's cult classic (read: AWESOME!) American Psycho.

Happy #BatmanDay Everyone

Today is "Batman Day", a day where we honor the greatness of The Dark Knight, look forward with anticipation to next year's Batman vs Superman, and mostly try to forget that Batman & Robin ever existed.

COMING SOON: #FiveStarFrights

With October only a few short days away it's time to get ready for the 2015 edition of FIVE STAR FRIGHTS, where I'll be showcasing the very best (and some of the worst) scary movies, moments, and characters from films past and present.

I want your ideas, what would you like to see as part of #FiveStarFrights? Looking for top five list ideas, your favorite movie monsters, the movie that scared you the most, and other things along those lines.

Let me know your ideas via the comments section below or on Twitter at @FiveStarFlicks or @5StarFlicks

HAPPY 15TH ANNIVERSARY 'ALMOST FAMOUS'

Cameron Crowe's seminal music flick Almost Famous came out FIFTEEN years ago today. Here's a few of my favorite behind-the-scenes photos he recently shared on his website theuncool.com (named after Philip Seymour Hoffman's famous scene in the film).

HAPPY FIFTEENTH ANNIVERSARY ALMOST FAMOUS!

Time flies when you're a golden god!

"This is Halloween! This is Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!"

Looking for something fun to do this Halloween? Danny Elfman will perform the music from Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas at the Hollywood Bowl, with full orchestra, choir, and special guests, while the film plays on the big screen.

Tickets are available on ticketmaster.com

LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, NOW ON YOUR PHONE (NO?) THANKS TO NETFLIX

You know that joke everyone makes about people watching Lawrence of Arabia on their phone? Well the David Lean epic is now streaming on the Netflix app, so it just got a little easier to do just that. I wouldn't recommend it though, it's kind of like listening to Beethoven's 5th on your computer speakers.
